Erin Speed leads the way in PCHS girls win over Valley

GUILFORD— Erin Speed scored 18 of her 25 points in the first half to lead the Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) girls basketball team to a 52-18 win over Valley on Monday evening.

The Pirates jumped out to a 10-1 lead and held a 15-3 advantage after the first quarter. PCHS built the lead to 28-7 at halftime.

Speed added eight steals, five rebounds, and three assists to her game high point total. Lexi Rowell and Bailey Lemieux put in seven points each. Rowell also had four rebounds and four steals. Alivia Hunt recorded five points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Olivia Riitano put in four points and pulled down eight rebounds, while Macee Pearl and Rachel Beckwith chipped in with two points each. PCHS (11-4) will host Penquis on Thursday evening. The game can be heard live at Eastern Maine Sports starting at 6:25 PM.

Kennedy Savoy scored 10 points to lead the Cavaliers. Rianna Davis added four points, while Alexis Davis and Kendra Sweet chipped in with two points each. Valley (4-10) will travel to Highview Christian on Wednesday.
