BANGOR, Me- Camden Jandreau scored 17 points, and Jacob Daigle had 16 points and 15 rebounds to power the Fort Kent Warriors past the Central Aroostook Panthers 66-45 in a Class C boys quarterfinal Tuesday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Center.
Fort Kent didn’t allow a basket for Central Aroostook for the first 5:30 of the game, and broke up 13-0. After trailing 19-4 after one, the Panthers made their first rally midway through the second quarter. Down 24-15, Ben Thomas knocked down a three pointer and Hayden Kingsbury scored a fast break layup to get CA as close as they had been since it was 4-0. However Fort Kent ended the first half of play on a 10-0 run and built the lead to 34-20 at the half.
With the Warriors up 17, the Panthers made another push to cut it to eight early in the third quarter. Fort Kent was too much though putting together an 8-0 run to increase the lead back to 16. The Warriors led by as many as 24 in the final quarter and improving to 16-4 on the season, and will face GSA in a semifinal Friday.
Central Aroostook, who finishes up 14-6 was led by Kingsbury who had 14 points. Thomas added 10, while Brayden Bradbury and Shane Stackpole had six points a piece.
Along with Jandreau and Daigle, the Warriors also got 14 points from Caleb Delisle, nine points from Jace Rocheleau, and eight points from Eden Paradis.
