Taylor Schildroth earns eighth Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 250 past athlete of the week winners. 

 

This week, we had 22 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Taylor Schildroth helped the two-time defending state champions from George Stevens win the class ac regional title. It is the eighth athlete of the week honor for Schildroth. He joins Kolleen Bouchard, Bryce Gilbert, and Justin Thompson to earn the honor at least eight times.

Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Taylor Schildroth- George Stevens- basketball- recorded 23 points, four assists, and three steals in 55-43 quarterfinal win over Houlton. Had 30 points, including 5 three pointers in 76-53 semifinal win over Fort Kent. Had 29 points in 62-39 regional final win over Fort Fairfield.

Runner up

Griffin Guerrette- Presque Isle- basketball- scored 36 points, including 22 in the fourth quarter and also nine rebounds and four assists in 65-54 quarterfinal win over Orono. Had 30 points in 72-60 semifinal loss to Presque Isle.

Other nominations

Bryce Gilbert- PCHS- basketball- recorded 28 points (11-13 FT), 14 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks in 59-55 class C prelim win over Bucksport. Recorded 28 points, 14 rebounds (including 500th in career), six assists, and three steals in 64-60 quarterfinal loss to Fort Fairfield.

Jacob Daigle- Fort Kent- basketball- scored 26 points in 68-47 win over Dexter. Had 16 points and 15 rebounds in 66-45 quarterfinal win over Central Aroostook.

Dean Grass- Bangor Christian- Basketball- scored 31 points and dished out eight assists in 76-65 class D prelim win over Deer Isle-Stonington. Recorded 24 points (including his 1000 career point), four assists, and three steals in 53-45 quarterfinal loss to Woodland.

Cayden Spencer-Thompson- Mattanawcook- Basketball- scored 23 points in 64-43 class C prelim win over Sumner.

Andrew Phelps – MDI-basketball- scored 19 points and pulled down five rebounds in 79-38 quarterfinal win over Washington Academy.

Jake Lapierre- Winslow- basketball- had 11 points and five rebounds, including game winning shot at the buzzer in 39-38 quarterfinal win over Oceanside.

Jacob Godfrey- Hermon- basketball- had 15 points and 12 rebounds in 67-40 quarterfinal win over Belfast.

Alex Marotta- Machias- basketball- recorded 23 points, 14 rebounds, and three steals in 54-45 quarterfinal win over Katahdin. Recorded 16 points and nine rebounds in 46-36 semifinal loss to Jonesport-Beals.

Adam Robinson- Jonesport-Beals- basketball- had 14 points and eight rebounds in 64-55 quarterfinal win over Southern Aroostook. Recorded six points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 46-36 semifinal win over Machias.

Riley Dionne- Schenck- Basketball- had 22 points in 54-30 quarterfinal win over GHCA.

Drew Hayward- Woodland- basketball- had 16 points and three assists in 53-45 quarterfinal win over Bangor Christian. Scored 22 points in 63-50 semifinal win over Schenck.

Justin Worden- Woodland – basketball- recorded 15 points, three rebounds, and three steals in 53-45 quarterfinal win over Bangor Christian.

Camden Jandreau- Fort Kent- basketball- scored 17 points in 66-45 quarterfinal win over Central Aroostook.

Max Mattson- George Stevens- basketball- recorded nine points, 20 rebounds, six blocks, and three assists in 55-43 quarterfinal win over Houlton. Recorded 12 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks in 76-53 semifinal win over Fort Kent. Recorded 12 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks in 62-39 regional final win over Fort Fairfield.

Logan Thompson- Mattanawcook- basketball- scored 16 points in 45-37 quarterfinal win over PVHS.

Isaac Cyr- Fort Fairfield- basketball- recorded 27 points, nine rebounds, and three steals in 64-60 quarterfinal win over PCHS. Recorded 24 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 53-45 semifinal win over Mattanawcook.

Derek Collin – MDI- basketball- had 21 points and 10 rebounds in 72-60 semifinal win over Presque Isle.

Keenan Marseille- Hermon- basketball- scored 18 points in 57-32 semifinal win over Winslow.

Cody Hawes- Hermon- basketball- scored 16 points in 51-38 regional final win over MDI.

Zachary Wilson- PCHS- Wrestling- wins PCHS first individual class B state championship in school history. He wrestled at the 170 pound weight class and was voted Most outstanding wrestler for the Class B state tournament.
