Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 250 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Taylor Schildroth had a big second half to help George Stevens Academy win their third straight state title. It is the ninth athlete of the week honor. He joins Kolleen Bouchard, Bryce Gilbert, and Justin Thompson to earn the honor at least nine times. Schildroth is tied with Gilbert and Thompson with the most male athlete of the week honors.

Taylor Schildroth- George Stevens – basketball – recorded 27 points, five assists, and three steals in 64-59 class C state title win over Hall-Dale.

Jacob Godfrey- Hermon- basketball- scored 21 points in 55-34 class B state title win over Wells.
