The Husson University Eagles Baseball team started their Florida swing on Sunday. The Eagles split a doubleheader with Widener University.
The Eagles lost game one by a score of 5-2. Nick Guerrette highlighted the offense with two hits and one RBI. Conor Maguire took the loss on the mound, allowing three runs in five innings.
Guerrette had two more hits in game two and Austin Smith pitched a complete game in a 5-1 win. Smith allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out three. He threw 88 pitches (63 strikes). Luke Covey has three hits, including two doubles. Sam Huston and Conor Maguire had two hits each.
Saint Vincent college score seven runs in the sixth inning and rolled to an 11-2 win over Husson on Monday afternoon at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Florida. Cody Collins allowed only two earned runs in 5.1 innings for the Eagles. Nick Whitten has three hits for the Eagles. Guerrette had another hit and has five in the first three games.
Husson (1-2) will play a doubleheader against Pittsburgh-Greensburg on Tuesday morning at 9 AM.
