Bruins come storming back to beat the Hurricanes

The Boston Bruins trailed 4-1 with 10 minutes left in the third period against the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday night, but rallied back with five third period goals to pull off a stunning 6-4 win at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.

After Brad Marchand scored his 30th goal of the season in the first period to give Boston a 1-0 lead, Carolina then built a three goal lead behind powerplay goals from Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen, and an even strength goal from Justin Williams all in second. A shorthanded goal just 51 seconds into the third period by Brock McGinn made it 4-1.

Boston then got goals from Matt Grzelcyk, David Pastrnak, and Danton Heinen in a span of 1:17 to make it 4-4. Pastrnak scored the game winner on the powerplay at 16:30. The Bruins tallied four goals in 6:20 to take the lead. Pastrnak then finished off the natural hat trick with an empty net goal at 18:26. Marchand and Riley Nash both added two assists, while Pastrnak also added one for a four point night.

Tuuka Rask made 29 saves in the win, and Boston was 1-4 on the powerplay. Cam Ward made 28 saves in the loss for Carolina, while the Canes were 2-5 with the extra man. Boston is now 44-16-8, Carolina dips to 30-29-11. Boston visits Florida Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
