Foxcroft coach Luis Ayala said “RJ has been a leader of our team for the last couple of years. He has meant a lot to our program during that time. What makes him special is the excitement he has and the intensity he brings to the mat every time he wrestles. This excitement and intensity is very contagious to the rest of the team. He has been a leader that leads by example and it all starts at practice. He gives his all and expects the same from others at practice. He has been a great leader not only on the mats, but also off the mats. He cares about his teammates and is always there for support and to give advice whenever they need it. His goal since he started wrestling was to be a State Champion. He has worked so hard for this and he has been very close the previous 2 years. So for him to finish this season atop of the podium was very special to see because I know he has given everything for that moment.”
