Red Sox postpone Patriots Day game for first time since 1984

The Boston Red Sox have postponed their annual Patriots Day game scheduled for Monday at 11:05 AM. The forecast calls for rain throughout the day and evening. The game will be made up on May 17th at 7:10 PM. That will start a four game series. It was originally scheduled to be a three game series starting on May 18th.

The last time the Red Sox had their Patriots day game postponed was in 1984, also on April 16th in a game that was scheduled to be played against the Detroit Tigers.

The 13-2 Red Sox will play next on Tuesday night at the Angles. David Price is scheduled to be on the mound for the Sox against Shohei Ohtani. The Angels come in with a 13-3 record.
