Mookie Betts smacks three homers in leading Sox to 10-1 win over Angels

In a highly anticipated showdown between two high profile pitchers and the two hottest teams in baseball, it was Mookie Betts and the Boston Red Sox offense that stole the show in a 10-1 win over the Los Angels Angels on Tuesday night at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Betts hit three home runs, including setting the tone with a leadoff homer. The Red Sox put up five runs in the third inning, including Brock Holt and Betts going back to back. Jackie Bradley JR had three hits, including a third inning home run. Rafael Devers hit a homer in the fourth inning, while Betts hit the team’s sixth homer and his third homer of the game in the eighth inning.

David Price (2-1) earned the victory on the mound. Price allowed one run on three and four walks, while striking out six.

The Angels phenom Shohei Ohtani left after the second inning with a blister. He didn’t leave before the Red Sox got three runs off of him.

The Red Sox improve to 14-2 and now have a five game winning streak with the victory. The Angels fall to 13-4. Rick Porcello and Tyler Skaggs is the scheduled matchup in game two of the series on Wednesday night!
