Red Sox use long ball to defeat Rangers: Porcello improves to 5-0

The Boston Red Sox hit four home runs in a 5-1 win over the Rangers at Texas on Friday night.

J.D. Martinez got the scoring started with a solo home run in the second inning. Rafael Devers hit two homers, while Mookie Betts remained hot and smacked his 13th home run.

Rick Porcello took care of the rest. Porcello allowed one run on three hits and one walk, while striking out eight in six innings. Porcello improved to 5-0 on the season.

Eduardo Rodriguez is scheduled to face Cole Hamels in game three of the four game series on Saturday night at 8;05.
