Red Sox bullpen lights out in win over Blue Jays

The Boston Red Sox bullpen fired five shutout innings in a 5-3 over the Blue Jays at Toronto on Sunday afternoon.

J.D. Martinez hit his 10th home run of the season in the first inning to get the scoring started. Martinez reached base three times, with two hits and three RBI. Martinez is hitting .342. Mookie Betts made an outstanding catch, reached base three times, including two hits. Betts is hitting .360.

Drew Pomeranz only lasted four plus innings. The bullpen came in and took over in a big way. Hector Velazquez (5-0) pitched two innings, allowing two hits and striking out two. Matt Barnes, Heath Hembree, and Joe Kelly each pitched a scoreless inning. Kelly got his second save of the season.

Rick Porcello is scheduled to be on the mound when the Red Sox open a three game series with the Oakland Athletics at Fenway Park. Sean Manaea is scheduled to pitch for the Athletics. Manaea pitched a no-hitter against Th Red Sox in April 21st.
