With only 16 days left in the high school softball and baseball regular season the number of undefeated teams in Northern Maine is down to five in softball and one in baseball.

In softball, Skowhegan is 8-0 and has outscored their opponents 55-7. Ashley Alward has dominated in the circle for the Indians. Skowhegan will have a challenge on Friday when they host Oxford Hills. That will be a matchup of the top two teams in the Maine Principals’ Association class A heal point standings.

Brewer (10-0) has outscored opponents 89-13. The Witches end the season with a tough stretch against Hermon, Winslow, Hampden Academy, and Nokomis.

Narraguagus (9-0) has outscored opponents 117-18. The Knights will host Greenville on May 25th. Narraguagus defeated the Lakers 1-0 when those teams faced each other on April 25th. The Knights are second in the class C standings. Bucksport (8-1) is at the top of the heal point standings.

Southern Aroostook (8-0) and PVHS (10-0) are the top two teams in the class D standings. The Howlers led by seven time athlete of the week winner Leine Mckechnie has outscored opponents 161-9. Woodland (9-1) is third in class D. The only loss for the Dragons came against class C undefeated Narraguagus.

In baseball, Edward Little (10-0) is the only Northern Maine team without a loss. The Red Eddies will have a big challenge on Thursday when they travel to Bangor for a clash with the 9-1 Rams.
