Red Sox score three in ninth inning to get win over Rays

The Boston Red Sox got a big hit from Xander Bogaerts and capitalized on a Tampa Bay Rays error to score three runs in the ninth inning and grab a 4-1 win on Wednesday night at St. Petersburg.

Matt Barnes, Joe Kelly (3-0), and Craig Kimbrel combined to pitch three perfect innings. Kimbrel recorded his 15th save.

David Price allowed one run on three hits and three walks in six innings. Price struck out nine. It is the third straight solid outing from Price. Eduardo Nunez had two hits. Andrew Benintendi walked three times, Mookie Betts walked twice.

Rick Porcello is scheduled to pitch on Thursday night as the Red Sox will go for the road sweep in the series finale.
