Lanie Perry earns third Charles Inn female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 258 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 15 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Lanie Perry allowed three hits and struck out 23 in leading Narraguagus in two tournament wins. It is the third athlete of the week honor for Parry.

The Charles Inn female athlete of the week

Lanie Perry- Narraguagus- softball- pitched a two hitter with 10 strikeouts in 9-0 class C quarterfinal win over PCHS. Pitched a one hitter with 13 strikeouts plus tripled and scored a run in 2-0 class C semifinal win over Mattanawcook.

Leine McKechnie- PVHS – softball- pitched a six hitter with 12 strikeouts in 13-3 class D quarterfinal win over Stearns. Pitched a three hitter with eight strikeouts in 20-0 semifinal win over Katahdin.

Other nominations

Avery Herrick- Dexter- softball-pitched a one hitter with four strikeouts in 16-0 class C prelim win over Sumner. Hit a two run homer in 7-3 quartfinal loss to Bucksport.

Peyton Grant- Dexter- softball- reached base four times, including two hits, four runs scored, and two RBI.

Kaitlyn Webber- Dexter- softball- had three hits, three runs scored, and four RBI in 16-0 class ace prelim win over Sumner.

Tory Asbury- Dexter- softball- had three hits and three RBI in 16-0 class C prelimwin over Sumner.

Cailin Seavey- Foxcroft – softball- had two hits, including the walk off hit in 2-1 quarterfinal win over Ellsworth.

Mackenzie Beaudry- Foxcroft – softball- pitched a two hitter in 2-1 class B quarterfinal win over Ellsworth.

Ryley Buck- PVHS- softball- had three hits, including two doubles and four RBI in 13-3 quarterfinal win over Stearns.

Lexi Ireland- PVHS – softball- had two hits, including a home run in 13-3 quarterfinal win over Stearns. Had two hits, including a double in 20-0 semifinal win over Katahdin.

Haley McLaughlin- Mattanawcook – softball- pitched a five hitter with seven strikeouts in 3-1 class C quarterfinal win over Central.

Chloe Jones- Oceanside- softball- pitched a four hitter with nine strikeouts in 3-0 quarterfinal win over Medomak Valley.

Kortney McKechnie- PVHS- softball- recorded two hits and six RBI in 20-0 class D semifinal win over Katahdin.

Libby Hewes- Brewer- softball- pitched a five hitter with seven struck outs and reached base three times, including two hits, one run, and one RBI in 10-1 class B semifinal win over Foxcroft.

Jordan Goodrich- Brewer- softball- had two hits, including a two run homer in 10-1 semifinal win over Foxcroft.

Hannah Stevenson- Bucksport- softball- had five RBI, including a grand slam in 16-2 class C semifinal win over Orono.Hampden
