The Boston Red Sox offense exploded for 14 hits in a 10-4 win over the Twins on Saturday night at Fenway Park.
Rick Porcello (13-4) was able to bounce back after a tough beginning to his outing. The Twins jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the third inning, as they were sparked by a Logan Morrison homer. Porcello ended up going 5.2 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk, while striking out five.
All nine hitters in the starting lineup had at least one hit for the Red Sox, five hitters had at least two hits, including JD Martinez who smacked his 32nd homer of the season.
Mookie Betts (two doubles) and Eduardo Nunez each had two hits and two RBI. Jackie Bradley JR reached base three times and scored two runs.
Heath Hembree threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief while Tyler Thornburg, and Joe Kelly each threw one shutout inning.
Rafael Devers left the game in the eighth inning with a hamstring injury. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Devers will be re-evaluated on Sunday morning. The teams will play the final game of the four game series on Sunday afternoon when Nathan Eovaldi will make his Red Sox debut. Jose Berrios is scheduled to be on the mound for the Twins.
