The Dexter Tigers girls soccer team defeated Bucksport 8-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Tigers have outscored opponents 38-5 through the first five games this season.

When you have numbers like that key players can be overlooked.. Cloe Mountain is one of those players. The junior got things started at the 36:53 mark in the first half from about 35 yards out.

The Tigers defenders created opportunities all afternoon as they built a 5-0 halftime lead at Bucksport. Kaylee Deering (senior), Abigail Wakefield (sophomore), Jade Wintle (sophomore), Torrey Hughes (freshman), and Mountajn have provided the spark that has helped Dexter average over seven goals a game while allowing only one per game. Morgan Smith returned from injury and played key minutes on defense plus put in a penalty kick in the second half. Dexter will host Orono on Monday afternoon. The matchup will feature two of the three teams in class C without a loss so far this season. Houlton is also unbeaten.
