Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 265 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had nine Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Garrett Trask did it with his arm and legs in leading Hermon to a win over Nokomis. Trask joins Tyler Thayer (2-17-14), Karli Theberge-(7) (5-29-16), Alex Allain (2) (10-23-17), Isaac Varney (2-19-17), and Breanne Oakes (4-22-17) as student/athletes from Hermon high school to be named athlete of the week.
Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week
- Garrett Trask- Hermon – football- threw for 104 yards and one touchdown plus ran for 125 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries in 25-7 win over Nokomis.
Runner up
- Carter Tolmasoff- Bucksport- football – had six receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown and also had 45 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in 28-21 win over Dexter.
Other nominations
- Ben Grant- Houlton – soccer- scored two goals and had three assists in 12-2 win over Calais. Had two assists in 5-0 win over Lee.
- Nathan Richards– Dexter – soccer- scored two goals and two assists in 8-2 win over Bucksport.
- Ethan Boutilier– Dexter – soccer- scored two goals and two assists in 8-2 win over Bucksport.
- Drew Hayward– Woodland- soccer – scored two goals and had one assist in 4-2 win over Jonesport-Beals.
- Ben Dorval– Winslow- football- rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns in 54-13 win over Waterville.
- Brady Findlay – Bucksport- football- threw for 128 yards and one touchdown on 10-17 passing in 28-21 win over Dexter.
- Dillion Allen– Dexter- football- had 106 yards (97 in second half) on 15 carries and two touchdowns in 28-21 loss to Bucksport.
