Patriots hold on late to knock off Bears

Tom Brady threw for 277 yards and three touchdowns Sunday afternoon, to lead the New England Patriots to their first road win of the season by edging the Chicago Bears 38-31 at Soldier Field.

New England (5-2), just held on as Chicago quarterback Mitchell Trubisky completed a hailmary pass at the two yard line to wide receiver Kevin White who couldn’t quite get into the endzone on the games final play. Brady tossed touchdown passes to Julian Edelman, and two to James White to lead the Patriots to their fourth straight win. Cordarrelle Patterson also had a 95 yard kickoff for a touchdown, and Kyle Van Noy returned a Dante Hightower blocked punt in for a score.

Trubisky played well in the loss for 3-3 Chicago, passing 26-50, 333 yards, and a pair of touchdowns, despite two interceptions. Trubisky also rushed six times for 81 yards and a score. Brady went 25-36 passing with one interception. Rookie running back Sony Michel left the game with a knee injury and will be getting an MRI to access the damage. Josh Gordon had four catches for 100 yards, while Trey Burton had nine for 126 yards and a touchdown for the Bears.

New England will next play next Monday night 10/29 at 8:15 pm when they visit the Bills in Buffalo.
