The high school sports winter season begins this afternoon with practices being held around the state. In the next few days coaches will determine which players make the the varsity and junior varsity teams. Preseason games will begin on Friday, including the preseason turkey shootout taking place in Howland.
Teams from Mattanawcook, Jonesport-Beals, Schenck, Stearns, Sumner, Old Town, Searsport, along with host school Penobscot Valley high school (PVHS) will participate in the two day event starting Friday. The full schedule is below.
