Dallas upsets New Orleans in TNF

November 29, 2018

In one of the bigger upsets in the 2018 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys held New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees to just 127 yards through the air and Ezekiel Elliott had 136 all purpose yards to lead Dallas to a 13-10 win at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in Thursday night football.

Dark Prescott passed for 248 yards and a touchdown, as the NFC East front running Cowboys (7-5) won their fourth straight game. Dallas picked off Brees once and also sacked him twice, as the Saints 10 game winning streak came to an end dropping their record to 10-2. Dallas had built a 13-0 halftime lead, before New Orleans scored 10 points in the third to creep back in. A strip sack of Prescott by Saints defensive lineman Cam Jordan gave New Orleans the ball back and a chance to at least tie it from their own 15 with about 2:30 left in the game. Two plays later however, Brees was picked off by Jourdan Lewis to seal the Dallas win. The hosts outgained the Saints 348-192 in total yardage, with Elliott churning out 23 carries for 76 yards and six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. Keith Kirkwood caught a 30 yard pass from Brees for the New Orleans touchdown.

Both teams are back in action on Sunday, December 9 when Dallas hosts Philadelphia, and New Orleans visits Tampa Bay.
