Celtics trounce Cavs at the Garden

All five Boston starters scored in double figures Friday night, as the Celtics pulled away from the Cleveland Cavaliers 128-95 at TD Garden.

Boston (12-10) led pretty much the entire game except for a small amount time in the second quarter. The Celtics led by as many as 10 in the first, and then after Cleveland had taken a three point lead in the second the hosts ended the first half on 24-11 run to take a 10 point advantage into the break. The third quarter was dominated by the C’s when they outscored Cleveland (4-17) 39-20 to take a 29 point lead into the fourth and cruise to their second straight win.

Kyrie Irving led the way for Boston only playing three quarters and finishing with 29 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Marcus Morris had 15 points, Gordon Hayward 14, Jayson Tatum 13, Marcus Smart 12, while Aron Baynes and Terry Rozier had 10 points a piece. The Celtics shot 60 percent from the floor, including 17-31 from three point range. Jordan Clarkson had 16 points, while Collin Sexton and Alec Burks had 15 a piece for the Cavs.

Boston will be at Minnesota Saturday night at 8 pm.
