DEXTER- Peyton Grant made 8 three pointers and scored 32 points to lead the Dexter Tigers to a 45-18 win over Penquis in a class C girls basketball game played Tuesday night at Guiski gymnasium.
Penquis held a 4-3 lead midway through the first quarter. The Lady Tigers followed that with a 13-0 run to take a 16-4 lead. They held an 18-8 halftime advantage. Grant scored 12 of her points in the third quarter as Dexter outscored the Patriots 16-4.
Avery Herrick added 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Cheyenne Beem chipped in with two points and eight rebounds. Danielle Cummings set the tone defensively with five steals in the first quarter. Dexter (2-0) will travel to Guilford for a game on Saturday afternoon. WHOU will have live video coverage at 2:30 PM.
Camryn Rolfe scored seven points to lead the Patriots, Megan Valvo added five points, while Sydney Fowles and Lexie Goddard had four and two points respectively. Penquis (1-1) will travel to Searsport on Thursday.
