Kayla Jones led five North Carolina State players in double figures with 14 points, as the #10 Wolfpack went to 11-0 with an easy 84-46 win over Maine at Reynolds Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina Saturday evening.
Maine (7-3) quickly went in a 7-0 hole and trailed 20-7 at the end of the first quarter. NC State (11-0) built on that with some hot shooting and some cold shooting by the visiting Bears, taking a 50-17 halftime lead by outscoring Maine 30-10 in the second. The hosts led by as many as 50 points in the third quarter in ending the Black Bears five game winning streak.
Kelly Fogarty had 13 points to lead Maine, while Parise Rossignol added 10 points and five rebounds. Jones added eight rebounds to her game high in points. Elissa Cunane and Aislinn Konig each added 11, while Grace Hunter and Kiara Leslie each chipped in 10 points for the unbeaten Wolfpack. NC State shot 57 percent from the floor, while Maine shot just 27 percent.
Maine returns to action next Saturday when they travel to Boston to battle the Northeastern Huskies at 12 pm.
