Houlton boys start quick in win over Central

EAST CORINTH— The Houlton Shitetowners scored 25 points In the first quarter and rolled to a 66-39 class C boys basketball victory at Central high school on Saturday afternoon.

Nolan Porter scored 11 of his 13 points in the first quarter, including 3 three pointers. Jaron Gentle hit 2 three pointers in the first eight minutes.

The Shiretowners had four players finish in double figures. Keegan Gentle scored a game high 16 points and pulled down six rebounds. Porter recorded 13 points and four steals.

Nick Brewer contributed 12 points, six rebounds, and four steals for the Shires. Drew Foley came off the bench to put in 10 points. Ben Grant added four points and seven rebounds, while Colin Moody and Cameron Callnan put in three and two points respectively. Houlton (5-1) will next play on Friday, December 28th at the Cross Insurance Center at 10 AM in a game you can see on WHOU.

Dylan Ham led the Red Devils with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Scott Ferrie added 10 points and six rebounds. Simon Allen chipped in with eight points (including two 3 pointers), Jeffrey Macomber had four points, Bryce Burns and Zachary Williams had two each while Alex Hewitt made one free throw. Central (1-4) will next play on Friday, December 28th against Lee Academy at the Cross Insurance Center.
