On Friday, the Maine Principals’ Association (MPA) announced the schedule for the 2019 regional and state cheering championships.
The regionals will take place on Saturday, January 26th. Class A North will get things started at the Augusta Civic Center starting at 9 AM. class C South, class A South, and class B South will follow at Augusta.
At the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, the class C North squads will start at 9 AM, class D North and South will start at 11:15 AM. Class B North will end the day at Bangor with competition beginning at 1:30 PM.
The top six teams in each region (class) will advance to the state championship with the exception of class D where the top eight overall teams will advance.
The State cheering competition will be held on February 9th at the Augusta Civic Center. Class D and A will start at 10 AM. The class B and C squads will start at 2 PM.
