Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. This week, we had 12 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Keegan Gentle averaged 24.3 points and nine rebounds this past week for the Houlton boys basketball team. It is the third athlete of the week honor for Gentle and second straight.

- Keegan Gentle – Houlton- Basketball- 31 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in loss to Caribou. Had 27 points and 13 rebounds in loss to Presque Isle. Had 22 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in win over Southern Aroostook.

- Matthew Fleming- Bangor- Basketball- scored 27 points, including four 3 pointers in 74-54 win over Lewiston.
