Greenville boys defeat PCHS on night over $3000 was raised for Aliza Jean Family Cancer Foundation

GUILFORD– Piscataquis Community HIgh School (PCHS) hosted the sixth annual Aliza Jean Family Cancer Foundation night. A total of $3,018 was raised. Click here to hear the interview with Craig Stutzman.

As for the basketball that was played on this night that was about more than basketball, the Greenville Lakers swept the Pirates. The evening started with the Greenville girls getting a 50-26 win.

In the nightcap, Camden Harmon led a balanced Lakers attack as they picked up a 78-66 win over PCHS.

Greenville started fast by making five 3 pointers in the first quarter and jumping out to a 27-11 lead. The Lakers maintained that 16 point lead (50-34) going into halftime as each team scored 23 points in the second quarter.

The Pirates cut the deficit to 64-55 by the end of the third quarter as Caleb Crocker and Caleb Willis each had seven points in the quarter. PCHS couldn’t get the deficit lower than seven in the fourth quarter. Harmon scored eight points in the final quarter, including going 4-5 from the free throw line.

Eben Cooley recorded 22 points and three assists to lead the Pirates. Kobe Gilbert put in 15 points (eight in the second quarter), Willis added 11 points. PCHS (8-8) will travel to Lee Academy on Tuesday.

Harmon had 22 points and eight rebounds for the Lakers. Samuel Lane added 14 points and six rebounds. Nick Caiazzo put in 12 points, Noah Bilodeau chipped in with 11 points, while Chris Caiazzo recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Greenville (7-8) will host PVHS on Tuesday.
