Kobe Pillsbury and Trever Richards power Dexter to win over Central

DEXTER– It is the last week of the high school basketball regular season and two senior leaders came up big for the Dexter Tigers on Tuesday night. Kobe Pillsbury and Trever Richards combined for 35 points to lead the Tigers to a 53-36 boys basketball win over Central.

Pillsbury (10) and Richards (8) combined to score 18 points in the second quarter as the Tigers outscored the Red Devils 18-9 in the quarter to take a 26-16 halftime lead.

The Red Devils cut the deficit to eight late in the third quarter. Richards made consecutive three pointers to get the lead up to 14. The Tigers expanded the lead to 39-22 at the end of the third quarter.

Dylan Ham led the Red Devils with 14 points and 12 rebounds. James Doucette and Scott Ferrie added eight points each. Bryce Burns chipped in with six points. Alex Hewitt recorded six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Central (7-10) currently are in the 14th and final tournament spot in class C. The Red Devils will travel to Sumner in their regular season finale on Thursday.

Pillsbury scored a game high 21 points and also had nine rebounds, three steals, and three assists. Trever Richards has 14 points (4 three pointers) and three steals. Nate Richards added six points, three rebounds, and two assists. Brett Kusnierz had four points and eight rebounds. Cameron Paige and Robbie Dorman had four and two points respectively. Chris Fitzgerald came off the bench to grab five rebounds. Dexter (13-4) will finish their regular season against Bucksport on Thursday. The Tigers will host a class C preliminary round game next Wednesday.
