The Boston Red Sox loss 7-0 at Oakland on Monday Night as they continue to struggle in a season opening 11 game road trip..
The Red Sox had an opportunity in the first inning when Mitch Moreland drilled a single to centerfield. Xander Bogaerts was thrown out at the plate on a great throw by A’s centerfielder Ramon Laureano. The Red Sox would only get two hits the rest of the game.

David Price had the best outing for a Red Sox starting pitcher through the first time through the rotation. He gave up four runs on five hits and two walks, while striking out nine in six innings. Price struggled with the long ball, giving up three home runs.
Price had pitched pretty well tonight, but the longball continues to haunt the Red Sox. 11 given up by the starters. 13 overall over the first four games and six innings. Now a 4-0 hole for a team that has shown nothing tonight at the plate.

Bogaerts who signed a six year extension with the Red Sox earlier in the day had two of the four Boston hits. The Red Sox and A’s will play game two of a four game series on Tuesday night with Chris Sale on the mound.
