Phoebe Li hit a two out walk off solo homerun in the bottom of the 10th inning late Friday afternoon, to give the host #21 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Engineers a 1-0 win over the Husson Eagles in the opening round of the NCAA Division III softball tournament at Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The Eagles only had two hits in the game while holding MIT to three in a pitching duel between Jen Jones and Ravenne Nasser. Husson was retired in order seven times and only had one runner reach second base. The loss ends a seven game winning streak for the North Atlantic Conference champions.

Nasser (17-6) allowed no runs, two hits, with one walk, and six strikeouts in the 10 inning effort in the circle. Husson (24-10) will now play in an elimination game on Saturday at 1:30 pm against #23 Eastern Nazarene (28-14). MIT plays Rowan College in the winners bracket game.
