DEXTER– The Foxcroft Ponies got a strong pitching performance from Makenzie Beaudry and Cailin Seavey powered a balance offensive attack in a 11-2 win over Dexter on Friday afternoon.

The Ponies started quickly when Seavey led off the game with a single. Foxcroft took advantage of two Tigers in the first inning to put two runs on the board. Karis Dankert had a run scoring bit to spark Foxcroft to a lead they wouldn’t give back.

Dexter responder quickly in the bottom of the first when Caitlyn Hardy got hit by a pitch and Peyton Grant drilled a double to set up second and third with no outs for the Tigers. Hardy scored when Cheyenne Beem hit a grounder to first base. Dexter would load the bases but Beaudry worked out of the jam with no more damage.

Dexter would load the bases again in the second inning this time with only one out. Beaudry retired the final two batters. That started a stretch where Beaudry retired 11 straight Tigers batters.

Beaudry showed that it isn’t just her arm that is strong when she drilled a two run homer over the fence in left field in the third inning.

Seavey had three hits, including a double to spark the Ponies offense from the top of the order. Beaudry scored four runs, Sheryl Chase had two hits, two runs scored, two RBI, and an outstanding defensive play at second base. Natalie Robinson had three RBI, including a two run double. Kenna Higgins hit a two run double. Beaudry allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks, while striking out five. Foxcroft (8-2) will travel to Caribou for a doubleheader on Saturday.

Grant, Beem, and Tory Asbury had the hits for the Tigers. Asbury had one RBI and Grant reached base three times. Avery Herrick allowed 11 runs (six earned) on 11 hits and two walks, while striking out five. Dexter (7-3) will host George Stevens on Monday.
