BOYS C/D SOUTH TEAM DEFEATS NORTH AT 2016 MAINE McDONALD’S® HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR ALL-STAR BASKETBALL GAMES

BANGOR, Maine – The Boys Class C/D South Senior All-Star Team defeated the C/D North All-Stars 113-79 today at the Maine McDonald’s® High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games at Husson University in Bangor.

Clay Swett of Dirigo High School paced the South squad with 18 points, followed by Anthony Owens of Winthrop High School who had 15. Leading the way for the North team was Ryan Chasse of Fort Kent High School with 13 points, while Nicholas Szwez and Will Entwisle of George Stevens Academy added 12 points each.

The North team was coached by Kevin Reed of Bangor Christian School and Dwayne Carter of George Stevens Academy. The North team roster also included Tyler Pye, Bucksport High School; Riley MacLeod, Bucksport High School; Brandon Theriault, Fort Kent High School; Grant Doane, Penobscot Valley High School; Ben Morrill, Piscataquis Community High School; Jarrett Olson, Washburn District High School; and Noah Caron of Washburn District High School.

The South squad was coached by Jason Furbush of Madison Memorial High School and Luke Hartwell of Valley High School. Rounding out the South roster were Abel Bryer, Boothbay Region High School; Riley Robinson, Dirigo High School; Gavin Arsenault, Dirigo High School; Chase Malloy, Madison Area Memorial High School; Cody Lawyerson, Valley High School; Luke Malloy, Valley High School; Milo Belleau, Waynflete School; and Brandon Sprague of Wiscasset High School.

Net proceeds from the All-Star Games benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of Maine. Last year’s All-Star Weekend raised more than $32,000.00 for the Charities. Since its founding in 1998, RMHC of Maine has granted more than $3 million to more than 250 non-profit organizations that positively impact the health and well-being of children and families in Maine and eastern New Hampshire.
