Michael Chavis has made a big impact in a short time for the Boston Red Sox. Chavis did it again on Wednesday night when he belted a home run in the 13th inning to lift the Red Sox to a 6-5 win at Toronto. Chavis became the second fastest Red Sox player ever to hit 10 home runs.

The Red Sox had a chance to win the game in the 12th inning when Mookie Betts hit a go ahead home run. It is the first time since 1951 the Red Sox hit multiple go ahead home runs in extra innings.
Tonight, Mookie Betts broke a 4-4 tie in the 12th inning and Michael Chavis broke a 5-5 tie in the 13th. The last time the Sox hit multiple go-ahead HR in extra innings of the same game was Apr. 29, 1951 at Philadelphia (Dom DiMaggio-11th, Tom Wright-12th).

Rick Porcello pitched a solid six innings. He allowed one run on three hits and no walks while striking out four. Alex Cora went to his bullpen of Brandon Workman, Matt Barnes, and Marcus Walden that has been very good so far this season. Each gave up one run and the lead disappeared to force extra innings.
Rafael Devers hit a home run in his third consecutive game. Xander Bogaerts had three hits, while Betts reached base four times. Heath Hembree (1-0) allowed a solo homer to Rowdy Tellez in the 12th inning but pitched a perfect 13th to pick up the win. Hembree struck out three.
The Red Sox and Blue Jays will wrap up the four game series this afternoon at 12:37.
