New Mexico State scored five runs in the sixth inning to overcome a three run deficit and defeat the University of Maine Black Bears softball team 7-5 at Clearwater, Florida on Sunday afternoon.

The Black Bears jumped out to a lead when Janelle Bouchard sparked a five run third inning with a double that scored two runs. Fianau Fiana sparked the big sixth inning for New Mexico State with a two run homer.

Fanren Glacken retired all six Black Bears hitters in the final two hitters to lock down the victory. Maine (4-5) will try to snap a three game losing streak when they take on Wisconsin-Green Bay in a doubleheader at Clearwater on Tuesday.
