Red Sox limp into biggest stretch of season after falling to last place Orioles

July 21, 2019

The Boston Red Sox will start a huge 14 game stretch on Monday. They will limp into that string of games against the Rays and Yankees after only getting one hit and falling 5-0 to the lowly Baltimore Orioles on Sunday afternoon at Camden Yards. The Red Sox lost two out of three to the 31-67 Orioles.

Asher Wojciechowski allowed only one hit and two walks, while striking out 10 in 7.1 impressive innings.

Rafael Devers got the hit for the Red Sox, while Brock Holt reached base twice.

The Red Sox will take on the Rays on Monday night at Tropicana Field. It is a stretch that will most likely determine the direction the Red Sox will go at the July 31st trading deadline. They play three at Tampa, four at home against the Yankees, three at home against the Rays, and four at Yankee stadium. Eduardo Rodriguez will be on the mound for game one on Monday at 7:10.
