Foxcroft Academy Girls Soccer
2018 Record: 7-7
Head Coach: Chris Wesley
The Foxcroft Ponies girls soccer team will have a solid mix younger and veteran players that will be looking to improve as the season goes on.
“Coming off a competitive season last year, I am expecting another successful season. Despite only having nine returning players from last year’s team,” Foxcroft coach Chris Wesley. “I feel the mix of the older players with the influx of younger players will put us in a good place by the end of the season.”
The Ponies will have experience players leading the way from midfield. They are expected to be a quick team which should help them overcome the newness in some positions.
“The team will be strong on defense along with good leadership from our midfielders and strikers,”Wesley said. “We will be inexperienced in some positions but will have speed & skilled offensive players to help offset our inexperience.”
Foxcroft hopes to be competitive and make a run at a tourney spot in a loaded Class B field. Some key returning players include Olivia Wesley/SR Midfielder, Amber Richard/JR, Ainsley Ade/JR, Kiya Cook/SO Striker, and Kamryn Commeau/SO Striker.
Wesley said, “playing in a competitive Class B that has a number of talented players will present numerous challenges throughout the season.”
The Ponies open the regular season at home against Hermon on September 7th. They will have road games in the first week against Dexter and Caribou along with a home game against John Bapst.
