PVHS girls soccer cruise to win over Searsport: Howlers start season 6-0

At Searsport, PVHS cruised to its 6th victory with a 3-1 win over the Vikings in school girl soccer action. Lexi Ireland scored first with her goal off a Holly Loring cross 7 minutes into the match. Leine McKechnie would add a goal herself just a short time later as she took an Emma Buck pass and blasted it into the corner of the goal. The Howlers held a 2-0 lead at the half.

Searsport was able to land a goal of their own when Makenzie Alley sent a penalty kick past PVHS keeper Emilee Ireland. Lexi Ireland secured the victory with her second goal late in the 2nd half. The Howlers peppered the net all game with 43 shots. Emilee Ireland recorded 2 saves on 4 Viking shots. Searsport keeper Sarah Gent notched 15 saves as they drop to 3-4 on the season. With the win, PVHS moves to 2nd place in the D North standings. They will face PCHS at home on Saturday. Searsport will travel to WA for their next match.
