CORINTH– In a battle of unbeaten teams on Thursday afternoon, the Orono Red Riots defeated Central 6-1 in a boys Class C North soccer contest.

The Red Riots got the scoring started just 5:03 into the game when Patrick Tyne connected off an assist from Lucas Souza Cuhna. Jackson Campbell gave Orono a two goal advantage with 27:20 remaining in the first half.

Farrell and Andre DeLannee added second half goals as Orono improved to 8-0-3. The Red Riots outshot Central 30-4. Javier Santiago had one save. Orono will finish the regular season with games against George Stevens, Houlton, and Central.

Burns and Caleb Worster combined for 10 saves for the Red Devils. Central (9-1-1) also have three games left with home games against Bucksport and Lee, and then finish the regular season at Orono.
