Bangor,ME- The Husson University Eagles women’s basketball team (3-4, 2-0 NAC) rolled over the NVU-Johnson Badgers (0-8, 0-2) 82-38 Sunday afternoon at the Newman Gymnasium.
The Eagles took the lead with 7:49 to go the in the opening quarter and didn’t look back, leading the Badgers 29-6 at the end of one quarter. Husson kept the defensive intensity high as they held Johnson to 7 points in the second quarter to lead 42-13 heading into halftime. The Eagles didn’t let up as they would continue to roll in the second half to win their second North Atlantic Conference game in as many days.
Vanessa Duarte lead the Eagles off the bench with 17 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Bailey Donovan added 15 points off the bench as well, along with eight rebounds. Megan Peach added 12 points eight rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.
The Badgers were lead by Klaire Ware and Halie Tillotson with 13 points each.
The Eagles are back in action Tuesday night in non conference action hosting University of Southern Maine at 6 pm.
