Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 318 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had six Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations.Lauren Cook averaged 22.5 points and five assists in leading the Calais Blue Devils to a pair of wins this past week. It is the second athlete of the week honor for Cook who has helped the Blue Devils start this season 7-0. Cook also earned AOW honors one year ago on January 7th, 2019.

- Lauren Cook- Calais- basketball- recorded 21 points, six assists, three steals, and three rebounds in 56-48 win over PVHS. Recorded 24 points, four assists, and two steals in 72-44 win over George Stevens.

- Lexi Ireland – PVHS – basketball- recorded 31 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, five assists, and three blocks in 51-29 win over Searsport.
Other nominations
- Sadie Garling- Waterville- basketball- had 17 points, including 5 three pointers in 52-23 win over Belfast. Scored 11 points in 38-17 win over Presque Isle.
- Abi Allen- Central- basketball- recorded 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals, and three blocks in 44-31 win over George Stevens. Had 15 points in 60-17 win over PCHS.
- Katherine Alley- Stearns – basketball- scored 19 points and had four steals in 59-54 win over Houlton. Had 10 points, four steals, three rebounds, and two assists in 60-19 win over Mattanawcook.
- Alisyn Alley- Stearns – basketball- recorded 17 points, six assists, five rebounds, and five steals in 59-54 win over Houlton. Recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, 11 steals, and 8 assists in 60-19 win over Mattanawcook
