The NBA draft lottery was held on Tuesday evening. The Boston Celtics ended up with the third overall pick in the draft that will be held June 23rd. The Celtics were able to be in the lottery thanks to a trade with the Nets in 2013. The Philadelphia 76ers got the first overall pick, while the Los Angeles Lakers will get the number two pick.
The Celtics have three first round picks and eight overall. Most likely, they will be involved in some kind of trades before the draft starts. We shall see if they deal the number three overall pick.
The Celtics have the #3, #16, and #23 picks in the first round. They also have the #31, #35, #45, #51, and #58 picks overall. The last time the Sixers had the number one pick was 1996, when they selected Allen Iverson.
