The time has come again as the Eastern Maine Sports staff is back to make our weekly NFL picks. Last season Marc Calnan dethroned Jeff Hoak to become a first time champion, ending Hoaks back to back title run in 2017 and 2018. No idea how the season will go dealing with COVID-19, but the week 1 games are scheduled and will go on with limited fans. The hometown team the New England Patriots begin a new era, as Tom Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the offseason as the Pats seem to be heavily reliant on Cam Newton who came to Foxborough as a free agent this summer. They will open with AFC East rival Miami at Gillette Stadium. Brady, Gronk and the Bucs have a showdown with an NFC South rival with Drew Brees and the Saints in New Orleans, while the world champion Kansas City Chiefs open up defense of their title when they host Houston on opening night Thursday at Arrowhead Stadium.
