Emily St. Cyr recorded a hat trick, as the Howlers cruised to an 8-0victory over the Penquis Patriots in Milo on Thursday.
Penobscot Valley improved to 5-0 as they relied on a balance of scoring in each half. Sophomore outside back Kaya Loring opened the scoring when her left footed blast off an Ali Gilman cross gave Penobscot the 1-0 lead in the first two minutes of play. St. Cyr would add the next two goals, converting a Natalie Spencer pass. Ali Gilman scored the final goal of the first half with Delaney Theriault assisting, and Penobscot Valley held a comfortable 4-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Gilman would add another goal in the second half, followed by an Emma Buck tally. St. Cyr scored her final goal as freshman Mia Neal recorded her first career assist. Natalie Spencer gave the Howlers the 8-0 final result, while Delaney Theriault picked up another assist. Penobscot Valley keeper Emilee Ireland earned her 4th shutout of the year making 3 saves on 3 shots. Penquis goalie Hope Lovell ended a busy night with 27 saves on 45 shots.
