Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 322 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 11 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Peyton Grant had six goals in two games for the Dexter Tigers girls soccer team. Grant is the 10th student/athlete to be named athlete of the week at least six times. She joins Kolleen Bouchard (19) (Houlton), Leine McKechnie (13) (PVHS). Lexi Ireland (9) (PVHS), Taylor Schildroth (9) (George Stevens), Bryce Gilbert (9) (PCHS), Justin Thompson (9) (Schenck), Gage Feeney (7), (Washington Academy). Karli Theberge-(7) (Hermon), and Parise Rossignol (6) (Van Buren). Grant edged out Emily St. Cyr (PVHS), Emma Buck (PVHS), and Lauren Robinson (PCHS).
