The University of Maine has released their spring 2021 football schedule. The Black Bears will play six Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) games that will start on Saturday, March 6.
Maine, coming off a 6-6 (4-4 CAA) campaign in 2019, will be on the road for three beginning with a trip to Delaware and also at home for three which ends with the regular season finale at Harold Alfond Sports Stadium in a battle for the Brice-Cowell musket on Saturday, April 17 against New Hampshire. The team will the best conference record will advance to the NCAA FCS playoffs which will include 16 teams. A tie-breaking procedure will be used as a result of a tie to determine the automatic qualifier. Teams also have the ability to schedule two non-conference games that can begin as early as January 23, and can schedule CAA teams in those contests but those games will not count towards the league standings.
