Brown with career high, Celtics romp the Grizzlies

Jaylen Brown scored a career high 42 points Wednesday night, and the Boston Celtics cruised to their second straight win with a 126-107 pasting of the Memphis Grizzlies at TD Garden in Boston.

Boston (3-2) used runs of 12-0 in the first and 17-0 in the second to blow the game open, leading by 26 at halftime and by as many as 32 in the third quarter. The hosts outscored the Grizzlies 36-12 on points off turnovers, and 29-8 on fast breaks. Brown added five rebounds and four assists, shooting 15-21 from the floor (7-10 three-pointers). Jayson Tatum (16 points), Marcus Smart (14), and Daniel Theis (12) also got into double figures as all 13 players that got into the game got into the scoring column. Jonas Valanciunas scored 20 points to lead Memphis (1-3) in the loss. Boston is at Detroit for two games this weekend, Friday night at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
