Red Sox ink Hernandez to a two year deal

January 22, 2021

The Boston Red Sox have announced the signing of 29 year old utility outfielder/infielder Enrique “Kike” Hernandez on Friday to a two year contact worth 14 million dollars.

Hernandez has played the last six seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, hitting .230 with five homers and 20 RBI in their championship run last season. His best season came in 2018 with LA when he hit .256 with 21 homers and 52 RBI. He is expected to be a solid pickup and give Boston more options against left handed pitchers, being able to play every position on the field to go along with an average right handed bat.
