The Husson men’s basketball team put three players in double figures Saturday afternoon, en route to a 87-56 victory over the University of Maine-Preque Isle at Newman Gymnasium in Bangor.

UMPI (0-2) had one early lead of 3-2, before Husson got a jump shot from Justice Kendall to take the lead back for good. The Eagles ended the first half on a 10-0 run to take a 37-23 halftime lead. They continued that momentum into the second half outscoring the Owls by 17, and leading by as many as that final margin of 31 to sweep the weekend series. Husson was playing their first home game since last February 18th.

Cam Wood had 10 points and eight rebounds, while both Jon Massaad and Scott Lewis also scored 10 each off the bench for 2-0 Husson. Massaad and Lewis also added five rebounds a piece. Akhe McMichael had 15 points and four rebounds, and Gilbert Jean had 13 points and four steals in the UMPI loss. The Eagles will travel to UMaine-Farmington to battle the Beavers on Saturday, March 6.
