March 2, 2021

Kemba Walker led six players in double figures with 25 points on Tuesday night, as the Boston Celtics won their third straight game with a 117-112 win over the Los Angeles Clippers at TD Garden in Boston.

The game featured 11 ties and 13 lead changes. Los Angeles (24-13) led by a slim 63-62 score at the half. The third quarter was much of the same as the contest remained tight, with the Clippers taking an 89-88 lead to the fourth quarter on a late three-pointer by Lou Williams. Boston built the biggest lead of the night with an 11-2 run finished off with a Jayson Tatum layup to make it 111-100 with 4:23 left. Paul George brought the visitors within 114-112 on a 12-3 spurt with one from behind the arc with 11.5 seconds remaining, but Daniel Theis put it away with two free throws to move the Celtics back above .500 at 18-17.

Walker added four rebounds and six assists to his point total in the win. Jaylen Brown had 18 points and five rebounds. Tatum and rookie Peyton Pritchard had 14 points each, while Robert Williams III and Tristan Thompson both had 13. Thompson added nine rebounds, while Williams had eight rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. George led Los Angeles with 32 points, five rebounds, and four assists, and Reggie Jackson had 25 points and seven assists. The Clippers played without Kawhi Leonard (back spasms), and have lost both games to the Celtics this season. Boston will host Toronto on Thursday night.
