Christian Arroyo and Alex Verdugo both walked to start the game in the top of the first, before Martinez launched a three-run homer to left center field on the first pitch of his at bat to quickly make it 3-0 Boston. Xander Bogaerts followed that with a solo homer to center. Texas (11-16) got their only run on an RBI single from old friend Brock Holt in the bottom of the second inning. After Bogaerts flied out to center, Rafael Devers took the first pitch he saw and lined it opposite field to left for a solo homerun that finished the scoring on the night. The Sox finish up the first month of the season with a 17-10 record.
